Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen to join and support the administrative team within the Gastro and endoscopy department based in Aintree, Liverpool University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust.

You will be joining a welcoming and friendly team, helping to provide an effective administrative service.

The post holder will have responsibility to undertake a full range of duties as Clerical Officer and be able to work both independently and as part of a team.

Deal with patient equiries both face-to-face and over the telephone. This may involve dealing with people who are upset, worried or acting aggressively.

Checking patients demographic details and updating as necessary.

Arrange interpreters for patients as necessary.

Liaise with GP practices/other hospitals to obtain information as required.

Provide clerical support for inpatient lists.

Undertake any training activity to ensure policies and procedures are understood, and to develop within the role as required.

Ensure patients are booked in accordingly outcomed on appointment system correctly.

Re-book or discharge patients. Ensure that all DNA’s are correctly marked and followed up.

Maintain good communications and relationships with patients/relatives and carers, general public and all disciplines of staff.
