Kenect Recruitment are recruiting a Civil engineer for our client a small engineering consultancy firm based just outside Moira. We are recruiting a graduate engineer to support the senior team to develop a wider offering.
The role will be based from our Northern Ireland office with flexible working arrangements supported.
Typically, you will assist with the delivery of technical designs including management of technical resources with the opportunity to develop your project management skills through the administration of individual projects from inception, through design and on to construction. Reporting to the Company Director you will contribute to the overall success of the business with great opportunities to advance your career in a dynamic professional environment within an exciting sector of the construction industry.

The role :
- Drafting of design drawings and models (2D, 3D and BIM) – experience preferable but not required
- Reviewing / authoring of investigation specifications, feasibility studies, specifications, bill of quantities, contract documents
- Report writing
- Site inspections
- Coordinating and reviewing project-related correspondence and incoming data, reports and drawings
- Preparing schedules and cost estimates
- Production of outline / detailed civil infrastructure designs
- Production of technical notes and reports
- High level and detailed calculations
- Overseeing the production of autocad drawings
- Carrying out feasibility studies
- Ensuring CDM compliance throughout design and construction
- Assist in seeking opportunities to improve the design by considering how to improve safety, incorporate buildability, improve quality, reduce defects, and provide best value compliant solutions
- Embracing Digital Construction to enable a digital build-before-we build team approach
- Understanding the project requirements including Client brief & business processes, and Employer Requirements
- Maximise profit through your day-to-day actions: good self-management, accuracy in own work, elimination of re-work

- Working knowledge in Microsoft Office, Word, Project, Powerpoint etc.
- Interest in all aspects of Civil Engineering from quantity surveying through development of programmes to conceptual design and 3D modelling
