Salary; Grade I £30,151 - £33,820 (Pay award pending)

An interesting opportunity has arisen to join the Resourcing Solutions Team, a specialist professional recruitment service, delivering recruitment consultancy, in-house talent acquisition and employability projects.


This role will have an employability remit and a key focus for the role is to work in schools to provide one to one Careers Information, Advice and Guidance to students. The post holder will also be a responsible for delivering employability projects that aim to attract future talent into North Yorkshire Council, alongside employee careers support. This includes working with our managers to develop paid employment opportunities and unpaid experiential placements to support young talent to transition into our workforce. You will build networks with education providers to promote North Yorkshire Council as an Employer of Choice.

The post-holder will be responsible for delivering one to one careers interviews in secondary schools across the county, mostly to Y11 and Y13 students who are at a key decision time in their education. Applicants must hold a level 6 Careers Advice qualification and have significant experience of delivering careers advice and guidance including on a one to one basis.


The careers advice work will be approximately 2 days a week in schools but if you are interested in working full time we have some really exciting employability projects to engage future talent into the new North Yorkshire Council.


Our team already have a successful track record and you will be joining experienced colleagues who will provide support and guidance, whilst also welcoming new approaches and ideas. Your ability to evidence team working is essential as there will be a need to share workload and collaborate on projects.

We are seeking an individual who has significant experience of providing careers advice to people from different backgrounds, underpinned with a level 6 careers advice qualification.


This is a challenging role in a busy, fast paced team, you will need to be prepared to deliver high quality careers advice to a large number of clients.

Due to the need to deliver face to face careers advice you will work approximately 2 days a week in schools and attend the office at Northallerton approx. monthly for team and development meetings and activities. If you wish to work full time you will complete approximately 2 days a week in schools, 1 day a week in the office at Northallerton and the remainder of the week from either an NYC office or from home.
