- Management of the diary and emails for the Chief Operating Officer so that they can successfully provide leadership to the organisation. Ensuring that daily commitment and forward planning issues are well organised and prioritised according to the current priorities of the organisation.
- To provide support to the Chief Operating Officer ensuring that they receive appropriate communications, and arrangement of regular meetings.
- To ensure timely communications to the Chief Operating Officer and Senior Acute team from Acute Care Groups, NHSI, Local Authority, Care Quality Commission and others are captured, forwarded, or identified for action. Liaise with colleagues to ensure that items are forwarded to the key committees in a timely and effective way. Co-ordinate timely returns to external bodies such as NHSI and the CQC.
- Work autonomously, using own initiative, knowledge and decision-making skills to provide, receive and communicate high level, complex or sensitive information at all levels from within the organisation, across the NHS and to partner organisations. Gathering and assimilating information and anticipating the actions required to achieve a satisfactory outcome, assuming responsibility for dissemination.
- In conjunction with the Chief Operating Officer and Business Manager, develop strategic documents to support the Trust and where appropriate other parts of the organisation and wider health system.
- In conjunction with the Chief Operating Officer and the Business Manager co-ordinate multiple complex projects from formulation of plans through to implementation and monitoring.
- Provide advice/guidance and information to all levels internally and externally, and to partner organisations and a variety of other external sources. Take necessary actions required in response to a variety of tasks requiring a range of skills, communication, organisation, negotiation. Facilitate arrangements in a variety of situations.
- Communicate effectively with a range of people from a variety of backgrounds in a sensitive and positive manner.
- Act as a role model for good customer care for all contacts to the Department whilst always maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Support the performance management of the organisation by monitoring relevant Quality, Performance and Finance indicators.
- Consider and introduce new ways of working to improve the efficiency of the support provided.
