Job Description

Our client are looking for an experienced Business Development person with a passion for innovative technology, to join our HMI Business Development Team.

This is a new business role to identify and support prospective customers to implement new and innovative HMI technology within their products.


Reporting to: Sales and Customer Experience Manager



Nature and scope of the position:


The primary objective of the Business Development appointment is to drive sales growth through the acquisition of new business in HMI. To strategically source, develop and tactically execute a continuous pipeline of new business opportunities, engaging with key stakeholders to win opportunities that will contribute to the long-term growth and profitability of the Company. To successfully manage the generation, nurturing and tracking of qualified leads into the sales process and through to a winning conclusion and to uncover the compelling reasons why customers buy.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Seeking new business opportunities from new targeted customers.
  • Use of first-class consultative sales skills to clearly communicate to customers the features and benefits of the products and services available from the company.
  • Engaging with Project Management, Technical, and Commercial teams to understand their full business requirements.
  • To install and manage cross-functional relationships between the business and prospects.
  • Effectively manage a sales pipeline of new business opportunities, ensuring a timely and efficient conversion of leads.
  • Diligent use of CRM to effectively manage all key account action plans, new business opportunities and administrative tasks.
  • Create, negotiate, and close commercial agreements with the support of Senior Management.

Competencies (Knowledge, Skills and Experience): Working knowledge of the general electronics industries, preferably within a similar technical sales role. Ability to effectively interact with both Engineers & Commercial minded people. Excellent consultative selling skills needed to successfully win business based on promoting differentiated sustainable solutions. Excellent literacy and communication skills with the ability to work at all levels within an organisation. Positive mind set with high levels of personal drive, resilience, and perseverance to convert business opportunities. Excellent problem-solving skills to work around business obstacles effectively. Experience of external sales role within a manufacturing environment. Computer literacy in Microsoft package (Outlook, Word, Excel and Powerpoint) Ability to effectively manage customer relationships at all levels. Ability to manage deadlines and workload. Full UK Driving licence
