Business Development Manager - Organisational Safety and Behavioural change

My client are a global organisation who are passionate and committed about Safety and protecting people and empowering companies to build a safer, more reliable organisations.
I am delighted to be recruiting for a Business development specialist to head up their Organisational safety and reliability division.

JOB PURPOSE

The successful candidate will be expected (in conjunction with BD managers and VP BD) to proactively develop and lead sales efforts in Organisational Safety and Reliability services. They will be motivated to grow the company brand in the UK and in particular the companies Organisational Safety and Reliability services. They will be a self-motivated person that sees a project through to conclusion and understand when and how to reach out to experts in the business to create the best solutions for our clients. The person must be passionate about making a difference in our client organisations.

MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
  • All activities are to be carried out in accordance with all company policies and procedures as set out in the Company Handbook and elsewhere including policies on; equal opportunities, anti-bribery, health & safety, data protection and information security.
  • To develop knowledge to competently sell Organisational Safety and Reliability services.
  • Establish, develop and maintain relationships with clients to grow accounts and ensure the company has impact and delivers.
  • For designated key accounts and prospects, develop stakeholder understanding and utilise this to improve DOPS resilience, reversing the bow tie.
  • Meet or exceed agreed sales targets by working to the agreed strategy.
  • Drive the sales pipeline and ensure good collaboration throughout the business lines.
  • Identifying, developing and realising sales revenue with new Customers, business and product opportunities
  • Support the Director BD to diversify client portfolio.
  • Recognise farming opportunities with new stakeholders, business and product opportunities. Proactivelyinvestigate new opportunities with clients and affiliates. Identify potential for additional sales (upsell and cross-sell).
  • Issuing quotations and converting these to orders.
  • Continuously looks for opportunities to improve personal and team performance.

  • To provide professional and effective services to internal and / or external customers, to meet customer expectations.
  • To communicate courteously with internal and / or external customers by telephone, email and face to face, building positive relationships, responding to and progressing issues and queries to a successful conclusion at the earliest time.
  • To speak positively and enthusiastically about the company and its products and services to ensure that a professional company and brand image is provided at all times to customers and colleagues.
  • To work as part of a team to achieve the departmental standards.
  • To work together with other departments within the business to identify any process improvements and improve standards, efficiency and profitability.
  • Respectfully challenge at all levels to ensure the business provides its best service to its clients and staff

KNOWLEDGE, EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum 7 years related experience in consulting sales, (preferably high hazard industries).
  • Strong knowledge of Culture change, Behavioural based safety and human capabilitues
  • Proven experience of selling services at C-suite / senior level, with high value projects and complex / long proposal conversion period
  • Understands consultative selling approach & experience.
  • Track record of delivering £1m+ programmes and multiple projects concurrently.
  • Demonstrable, successful experience in developing and delivering new product solutions in an evolving market.
  • Proven negotiation skills at a high level.
  • The proven ability to develop and drive a sustainable pipeline of opportunities.
  • Previous experience of managing / driving sales campaigns with associated project management skills.
  • Tenacious and target driven.
  • To be confident and have experience in conference speaking.
  • Self-starter who is adaptable, flexible and creative.
  • Excellent understanding of delivery and sales.
  • Degree or equivalent (desirable).
  • Team player with a real ability to network and collaborate.
  • General Business/Industry awareness with an ability to identify opportunities.
  • Strategic thinking with analytical skills.
LOCATION
The job is based in the UK and can be fully Hybrid.
You must have the flexibility and desire to move between the UK offices and client sites.
Travel required up to 50% of the time (National & International).
