A fantastic opportunity has become available for a Product Marketing Manager to join our Sales, Marketing, Servicing & Parts (SMSP) Product Marketing team based in Peterborough, UK
As the Product Marketing Consultant, you will be responsible for a portfolio of products, where you will identify, evaluate and develop business cases for opportunities of new market segments that support sales growth objectives and improve profitability. You will then follow this through the Caterpillar NPI process and lead a team accountable for the launch to the market. In this role you will support the diesel engines market and support the development of our future product strategies including, electrification, hybrids, hydrogen technologies, low carbon fuels, and future emissions technologies.
As the successful candidate you will:
Lead the Sales & Marketing input into the NPI process to develop robust business cases aligned to customers and marketplace requirements driving profitable growth:
Turn input from the customers and markets into actionable product requirements.
Ensure results and recommendations for business development are presented to senior management through commercial business cases to gain business commitment.
Develop and execute the product Go to Market plans , pulling on wider marketing teams to ensure a successful product launch to the market.
Enable effective selling by building and communicating compelling customer value propositions that are understood both internally and externally.
Be the customer champion throughout the NPI process and beyond to ensure delivery of the agreed customer requirements .
Serve as a companywide resource on a product range, assisting senior management and sales in interpreting and using information provided.
Participate in developing multi-year product plans , provide competitive analysis to support business planning.
Interpreting both competitive current and future capabilities and plans across a broad range of industries and markets and provide financial analysis into the strategic planning process.
This high-profile role will provide great opportunity to gain deep understanding into the commercial, product management and marketing functions with-in Caterpillar and provide a fundamental building block to progress to wide range of senior positions and will be great platform to understand our future expanded offering strategies.
REQUIREMENTS
Basic Qualifications:
Bachelor degree in an accredited Business Management, Marketing or engineering subject.
Progressive experience with-in Business to Business Marketing
Top Candidates Will Also Have:
Self-starter with strong technical leadership skills
Ability to communicate effectively at all level of the organization to both internal and external audiences
Ability to drive actions through the organization
Previous customer facing experience or sales experience would be beneficial
Ability to coach and train others
Experience of the NPI process.
Project Management or Six Sigma black belt experience

Travel is 25% required.
