Control Framework in the
Operations Settlements space. This is a wonderful opportunity in an exciting area of the bank which will give you exposure to a varied range of areas. We work alongside colleagues from Markets & Lending Delivery, Front Office, Risk and Finance, allowing you to experience a breadth of interesting products and processes across the business.
Who are the Post Trade Lab?
A group of Product Owners, Project & Programme Managers, Business Analysts, Scrum Masters and Engineers that have a passion for the products we support from a delivery and technology perspective and a drive to improve the way we deliver change. We are hugely proud of the relationship that we have built with our key partners and users, and the visible value we have added to the bank in terms of our ability to react to change with a strong eye on the ever-growing regulatory compliance environment. We look to work in an agile and collaborative manner, always learning and improving ourselves and sharing knowledge with the wider team.
So, what would I focus on in this role?
As a key stakeholder of the Post Trade Lab, the Markets and Lending Delivery area have identified the need for improvements within its Settlements function through the use of strategic infrastructure improvements, control diagnostics and automation, and process improvement. As a 'Critical Business Process' this is a core area of focus.
You will be part of a team tasked with identifying, validating and documenting clear, specific and detailed requirements to address sub-optimal control processes, closely collaborating with our stakeholders across Markets & Lending Delivery, internal Architecture and Engineering teams, and external vendors and partners. The role will also include performing proof of concepts using vendor solutions to diagnose and solve for any areas identified for improvement, to help position a business case for potential future strategic funding.
Changes to E2E processes and systems will require close liaison with the business and developers to visualise business and functional requirements and drive improvements. These changes will span multiple teams both within and outside the Lab and will require a level of Project Management/ organisational capability to succeed.
You will be part of a collaborative and empowered culture, taking ownership of the relevant outcomes, as well as stimulating innovation, will be seen as a key success factor. Your stakeholder management, influencing, presenting and collaborating skills will be vital as you interact with a wide range of non-technical and technical colleagues. You will use your skills to influence specific actions and outcomes, and determine how we, in Group Transformation, can help them achieve those goals. Your diplomacy skills will get a real workout!
What experience do you need to apply for this role?

Project Management experience is not required but would be welcome. you should have a desire to lead, taking full responsibility for the delivery, and managing multiple stakeholders. Specific Project Management skills can be learnt over time, should that be required. This should be complimented by experience working with a diverse range of role types and working with teams/functions outside your direct control to meet ambitious, and often immoveable timelines.
Most importantly, strong stakeholder management and influencing skills are a must. Highly desired would be a strong background knowledge of Markets & trading / product lifecycles, including
Derivatives, FX, Rates, Fixed Income, Repo and Lending products, but any strong all-round Business Analysts please still apply!
