Are you a qualified Civil Engineer, looking for a career which is rewarding, at the cutting edge of project development and where you can really make a difference?

If so, we have a role for you!

The Opportunity…

We are looking for a Civil Building Architect to join Edvance UK. Edvance is a joint venture between EDF and Framatome, and is responsible for the design of the nuclear island for the Hinkley Point C (HPC) project. Following on from the success of HPC, the Sizewell C (SZC) Project is a ~£20bn nuclear new build project in Suffolk, and work on the replication strategy and some early design studies is already underway.

As a Civil Building Architect, you will take responsibility of the prestressing gallery for the SZC project from a civil design point of view. This position has a potential to grow by incorporating the responsibility of the design of the common raft for the nuclear island into your scope, you would be then supported by other engineers for which you would be responsible. You will be interacting with civil designers, technical departments and project managers and will be responsible for the configuration of the SZC structure and ensuring it’s implemented and followed.

This is an excellent opportunity for you to be part of one of the largest, most complex projects in Europe; something vital to the country’s future energy needs.

Pay, benefits and culture…

Alongside a starting salary from £50,000 - £55,000, we offer a competitive benefits package, including a company pension scheme, a wide range of flexible benefits to suit your lifestyle, and the opportunity to earn bonus.

At EDF, everyone’s welcome. We strive to create an inclusive and diverse environment where everyone has a voice and where you feel confident being yourself. We’re committed to equality, diversity and inclusion. We’d like our future workforce to have an equal gender balance, represent a broad mix of people from minority ethnic backgrounds, LGBTQ+, those with a disability and supporting social mobility.

We’re a disability confident employer and we’ll do all we can to help with your application, making adjustments as you need.

We’ll value the difference you bring and offer opportunities for you to thrive and succeed.

  • Collect, analyse and verify the consistency of input data from previous projects and other disciplines, including liaise with HPC site based engineering teams to recover input data and lessons learnt from HPC.
