Job Description

The post holder will work with the Director Governance to lead on the oversight of the Trust’s corporate, quality and safety agenda with the main focus being on the strategic leadership of the clinical quality governance, risk and assurance frameworks of the organisation. The role is critical to the achievement of the Trust’s strategic objectives and fundamental to the provision of sound board assurance processes.

The role has oversight and development of the clinical and corporate governance teams. It will play a key role in the implementation of the new Patient Safety Incident Response Framework. Establishment and maintenance of a sound risk management and policy governance framework. Leads the operational plans to prepare for and respond to external assessments, including those by the CQC and NHS England. Provides expert advice on legal matters pertaining to the Trust, including claims and clinical negligence issues. Deputises for the Executive Director of Governance when required. A member of the senior on call rota.
