Job Description


The Planning team is comprised of a Business Director who leads the client day to day relationship and the team as well as this Planning Director and a Planning Manager. The purpose of the planning team is to be the conduit between channel/activation teams and the clients

The Client
Elsevier is an academic publishing company specialising in scientific, technical and medical content. Its products include journals such as The Lancet, online citation database as well as digital tools for data management, research analytics assessments.

Elsevier's scale is large, in 2021 they published 600,000 articles in over 2,700 journals and has archives that contain over 17 million documents and 40,000 e-books.

The client is a global one, meaning activation in multiple markets from London. Separated into B2B and B2C and individual business units.


Responsibilites

Comms Planning:

  • Understand and communicate channel strategies for core client KPIs
  • Recommend latest media solutions and guide roadmaps, work closely with activation teams
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the media and technology developments that influence and client’s business and goals in order to constantly provide innovative solutions
  • Inform clients of new innovative opportunities in the market and how this can help their business

Project Management:

  • Manage scope of work and prioritize output
  • Ensure timely delivery and adherence to deadlines
  • On-board new clients smoothly ensuring record keeping/finance is all set up properly
  • Maintain quality control of agency's output
  • Manage cross department forecasting, budgeting and finance controls

Relationships:

  • Cultivate client relationships and develop internal relationships
  • Maintain and increase client satisfaction scores
  • Provide category knowledge and support clients in achieving their goals.

Qualifications
  • Confident in leading and developing teams
  • Competent understanding in commercials and commercial discussions
  • Confident in account and project management
  • Skilled at communication and relationship building with internal and external stakeholders
  • Previous experience working with multi-markets
  • Confident media planning across all media channels
